LeminLimez releases updated builds of Nugget & Pocket Poster with bug fixes & improvements

iOS developer LeminLimez has been busy improving two of his most popular recent projects in the iPhone hacking community – Nugget, a device customization toolbox that supports iOS versions 17.0-18.1.1, and Pocket Poster, an on-device animated wallpaper utility for iPhones running iOS versions 17.0 and later.

LeminLimez announced brand-new updates in posts shared to social media platform 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) on Monday, including Nugget v6.1.1 and Pocket Poster v2.0.2, and we’ll discuss what’s new in those updates below:

Nugget v6.1.1

New in the latest version of Nugget are the following changes:

  • Changed how the hashes are written to Pocket Poster (needs v2.0.2 or newer)
    • For earlier versions of Pocket Poster, use Nugget v6.1 or earlier
  • Added multiple new languages:
    • Abkhazian
    • Chinese (Simplified)
    • German (Australia)
    • French (Belgium)
    • Irish
    • Indonesian
    • Italian
    • Portuguese
  • Updated some existing languages
  • Fixed status bar applying problems on Windows
  • Changed how macOS intel is compiled so that it will hopefully launch as expected

You can download the latest version of Nugget from the project’s GitHub page.

Pocket Poster v2.0.2

New in the latest version of Pocket Poster are the following changes:

  • Changed how the app hash is gotten (needs v6.1.1 or newer)
  • Pocket Poster now prompts when there is an update available
  • Reset Collections button now falls back to the tutorial screen from v1.0 on iOS 17.0
  • Added new languages:
    • Bulgarian
    • Chinese (simplified)
    • French (LU)
    • Italian

You can download the latest version of Pocket Poster from the project’s GitHub page.

Both of these hacks are interesting because they can apply jailbreak tweak-style hacks on modern iPhones without the need for a jailbreak. For example, Nugget can customize various parts of the operating system, including the Status Bar, while Pocket Poster allows users to set animated wallpapers that wouldn’t ordinarily be possible on a stock device.

Nugget requires a computer to use, but it supports macOS, Windows, and even Linux. Once you’ve installed it, you will use it once to install Pocket Poster, after which Pocket Poster becomes a fully on-device hack that doesn’t require a computer to use ever again. You can also browse a large user-curated library of animated wallpapers and download whatever you like from it.
