As is tradition, Apple will host the Worldwide Developers Conference this coming week. A keynote will be hosted on June 9 at 10:00AM PT, which will be streamed live on Apple’s Apple TV Events channel and YouTube channel. You can also find libraries of previous streams and upcoming live feeds on the dedicated Apple Events website. WWDC, or “dub dub” to journalists and podcasters attempting to prove their insider cool factor, will discuss the myriad of software specific updates coming to your favorite Apple devices, even the Vision Pro.
Every detail will be poured over, even the anticipated jump in naming conventions for each OS. It is expected that Apple will align the operating system nomenclature with the calendar year in which it will be primarily utilized. Consequently, it is expected that “26” will be the suffix for each OS launched at WWDC 25, because the final RC version will not be launched for GA until late this fall and land on a majority of devices in 2026.
Rumors around other updates are somewhat scattered. There are some pundits claiming Apple will be doubling down on AI and other outlets arguing Apple will shy away from the recently embarrassing topic, given Apple Intelligence having flopped against WWDC 24 promises.
Regardless of the eventual commentary, get hyped with these downloads.
