The smartphone that I use on the daily is an iPhone 16 Pro Max – Apple’s current flagship handset with a 6.9-inch OLED display and a beautiful titanium surround that complements the frosted glass back plate of the device.

But as nice as the iPhone 16 Pro Max is, what really makes it the workhorse of a device that it is for me are the various accessories that I pair with it, making it not only resilient to the use cases I put it though, but also adding capabilities that integrate with my daily workflow.

In today’s piece, I’ll be sharing what are some of my favorite accessories for the iPhone 16 Pro Max with the hope that you might find some common ground with me in the essentials. Of course, opinions vary from one person to the next, so if anything, perhaps it will aid in product discovery for some folks even if they go another route.
My favorite accessories for the iPhone 16 Pro Max
Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 Wireless Charging Dock with MagSafe
The Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 Wireless Charging Dock with MagSafe is my single favorite desktop charger right now. The elegant minimal design takes up very little space on my desk, and it charges both my Apple Watch Ultra 2 and my iPhone 16 Pro Max at full speed simultaneously.
The angle of the MagSafe charger is adjustable, so you can put it at whatever viewing angle suits your needs. Whether you’re using it as a FaceTime stand during a call or a Standby Mode stand while performing other activities at your desk, this is ideal. When I use this in my bedroom, I can use my home office Mac’s iPhone Mirroring app to use my iPhone while it charges in the other room.
The Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 Wireless Charging Dock with MagSafe has a very satisfying soft touch feel to it, making it feel premium. I also like the polished metal Apple Watch stand and the braided power cable, which features a USB-C end so you can plug it into any USB-C-enabled power source of your choosing. This charger is available in both dark and white color options as well, depending on your tastes.
You can get the Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 Wireless Charging Dock with MagSafe for as little as $79.99 from Amazon or for $119.99 from Belkin’s website.
OtterBox Symmetry Series for MagSafe Case
Cases are a highly debated subject matter among iPhone enthusiasts because some people prefer minimal cases that show off the beautiful industrial design of the iPhone, while others prefer bulkier protective cases that protect their iPhone from daily life. The OtterBox Symmetry Series for MagSafe case strikes a harmonic balance between these two things.
While most people think of bulkier OtterBox Defender cases when the name OtterBox is thrown around, the brand’s Symmetry series cases are anything but. These slimline cases are just the right thickness to make pocketing your iPhone a sinch while also offering enough drop protection in the unlikely event that you lose your grip on your device.
I like that this case features a comfortable material to hold in my hand while also providing a cut-out for the Camera Control on the side of the case. Moreover, the buttons are highly responsive rather than being spongy.
The OtterBox Symmetry Series for MagSafe case is available in a plethora of different colors and designs, but I went with black because I’m a minimalist.
You can get an OtterBox Symmetry Series for MagSafe case for your iPhone 16 Pro Max for $47.99 from Amazon or for $59.99 from OtterBox’s website.
Zagg Glass XTR4 Blue Light Screen Protector
iPhone owners know that the display glass is often the first thing to break on their device – generally from small drops and impact accidents you didn’t see coming. That’s why I like using the Zagg Glass XTR4 Blue Light Screen Protector, as it’s cheap insurance against any screen damage that my iPhone 16 Pro Max might incur from everyday life.
Designed with high quality glass and fortified with graphene, Zagg’s Glass XTR4 Blue Light Screen Protector blends right in with your iPhone’s existing glass so you can hardly even tell it’s there. Paired with a case like the OtterBox Symmetry series mentioned above, you don’t even notice the lip of the screen protector on your iPhone because of the case’s own beveled edge meeting up with the screen protector on the front.
The screen protector itself is not only 11x stronger than traditional tempered glass, but it also incorporates blue light filtering technology, which helps reduce eyestrain and improve color vibrancy when viewed through the glass. The team at Zagg have also included an anti-microbial treatment, which reduces fingerprints and the growth of bacteria on your glass.
The easy application kit included by Zagg makes installing this screen protector completely idiot-proof, while the lifetime replacement guarantee lets you get free replacements when you mis-install or break the screen protector.
You can get a Zagg Glass XTR4 Blue Light Screen Protector from Amazon for $59.99 or for $59.99 from Zagg’s website.
SanDisk Extreme PRO Dual Drive
Thanks to the USB-C port on the iPhone 16 Pro Max, it’s easy to plug just about any USB-C flash drive or accessory into the device and make use of it. USB-C-enabled flash drives like the SanDisk Extreme PRO Dual Drive is one such example of a convenient accessory that I use all the time with my iPhone 16 Pro Max, as it works seamlessly with iOS.
The construction of the SanDisk Extreme PRO Dual Drive is particularly nice, as it’s a weighted aluminum housing that spins to reveal either a USB-C or classic USB-A male connector. The USB-C end plugs right into my iPhone 16 Pro Max, allowing me to read its contents, add files, and more. The USB-A end can then plug into any PC, allowing for seamless cross-platform compatibility.
For my, the SanDisk Extreme PRO Dual Drive has been an asset for transferring office files from one device to the next, moving images I take with my digital camera, and more. With its 1,000MB/s read speeds, and 900MB/s write speeds, it has no trouble keeping up. Moreover, it’s available in 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB size options, so you won’t run out of space anytime soon.
You can get a SanDisk Extreme PRO Dual Drive starting at $69.99 for the 512GB version from Amazon or starting at $69.99 for the 512GB version from SanDisk’s website.
Belkin BoostCharge Pro Wireless Car Charger with MagSafe
Having access to my iPhone 16 Pro Max while in the car can be extremely helpful, especially when it comes to navigating with Apple or Google Maps in unfamiliar places. Rather than balancing my smartphone on my knee while trying to drive, I find that mounting it up somewhere in view is much better (and safer).
The Belkin BoostCharge Pro Wireless Car Charger with MagSafe is the perfect accessory for this. It clips to any one of your vehicle’s AC vents, allowing you to magnetically attach your iPhone to your dashboard where it will be in plain view of the driver and any passengers. For turn-by-turn directions, this is especially helpful.
Moreover, the integrated 15W MagSafe charging means that you won’t lose any battery while you navigate. Additionally, being placed on an AC vent is genius, as it works as an iPhone cooler when the device sits in the Sun and while using hardware-intensive location services to keep your directions up to date.
Belkin’s BoostCharge Pro Wireless Car Charger with MagSafe is one of the most premium-feeling in-car mounts that I’ve ever used. It’s not only sturdy, but rigid. It’s also made from premium materials, keeping plastic to a minimum.
You can get a Belkin BoostCharge Pro Wireless Car Charger with MagSafe for $69.99 from Amazon or for $79.99 from Belkin’s website.
Nomad 240W Kevlar USB-C Cable
Lastly, I think Nomad should get an honorable mention in this piece because their 240W Kevlar USB-C cables are absolutely prime, made from durable materials and ranging between 0.3m and a long-distance 3m in length for absolute flexibility in whatever wired charging experience you might necessitate.
These cables are top-notch with their metallic carbide-colored cable connector ends and anti-fray braided Kevlar wire wrap material. An included rubber strap can even help you organize the cable when not in use. This is particularly important on my 3m version, which can tangle up without proper organization.
While 240W is overkill for an iPhone, that’s not a problem because the cable uses the wattage of whatever USB-C power adapter you’re using instead. Still, the power rating makes this cable a multi-platform monster, capable of charging even the most power-demanding MacBook Pro around – the 16-inch MacBook Pro with M4 Ultra chip.
You can get Nomad’s 240W Kevlar USB-C cable starting at $19 for the 0.3M version from Nomad’s website.
