In our Sunday edition of iDB Wallpapers of the Week, we submit to you the totally tubular “Neon Area” collection of iPhone wallpapers. The set of backgrounds fits into one of the most popular wallpaper categories on the site, our gradient gallery. A true smörgåsbord of color, these bands of color light up any Lock or Home Screen on your favorite device.
”Neon Area” gradient wallpaper for iPhone

The featured artist of today’s collection is @damonxart, who specifically describes themself as a “gradient artist,” particularly in the 3D space. Taking those talents into the digital space, we are excited by the “Neon Area” downloads.
A lot is happening in these iPhone wallpapers downloads. First impressions land on the gradients, which feature multiple color bands, smoothly alternating together. Each band is housed in a single linear experience. Based on the way each band is shaded and highlighted, they appear as if in a series of tubes, giving the overall impression of a three dimensional band of light. Totally, tubular.
The iDB Wallpapers of the Week collection is updated every Sunday and is your predictable location for incredible backgrounds, now almost 11 years in the making. To influence the collection catch up with me via @jim_gresham on X or @jim_gresham@mastodon.social, where I curate the gallery. Send over your favorite downloads, repos, or tips and prepare for a shout out on an upcoming post. Follow along for mid-week downloads and general Apple banter.

When I stumbled upon the Neon Area wallpapers in my trek for today’s collection, I was reminded by another set of playful gradients in a previous Wallpapers of the Week collection. As coincidence would have it, the “Behind the Light” downloads we’ve previously featured, were also the clever work of @damonxart! Check them out below.
