Apple Maps now shows ratings and reviews from Michelin and other expert sources for top-ranked restaurants, hotels, golf courses and more.
Finding upper-class restaurants just became easier for Apple Maps users in the United States, who can now browse and search for eateries and fine-dinning establishments that have received Michelin stars (the most prestigious culinary award in the world) or reviews from Green Star or Bib Gourmand.
Reviews from The Infatuation and Golf Digest, as well as support for additional countries, will be added in the future. Apple says golfers will also be able to book tee times via Supreme Gold integration without leaving the Maps app.
Apple Maps gains Michelin restaurant reviews and more
As of May 14, 2025, iPhone and iPad owners in the United States can now find top-ranked restaurants, hotels, golf courses and other places using the filters feature in search results within the built-in Maps app, which now shows rankings and insights from expert sources, according to Apple’s announcement.
Enter something like “restaurants” or “hotels” into the search field or choose a category below the “Find Nearby” section, like “Restaurants.” Then, select the “Michelin Distinctions” filter below the search field and narrow down the listing by choosing between “1 Star,” “2 Star,” “3 Star,” “Bib Gourmand” and “Green Star.”
“Michelin Guide, The Infatuation and Golf Digest are leading industry experts that consumers rely on for finding the best restaurants, hotels and golf courses, and we’re excited to bring their valuable insights and accolades to our users in Apple Maps,” said David Dorn, Apple’s senior director of Internet Software and Services.
You can now book hotels in Maps
Place listings now display additional information about restaurants, including distinctions, descriptions and images. Apple Maps is also enhancing hotel listings with additional information and the ability to book your stay from within Apple Maps, as well as schedule restaurant reservations through Michelin.
These features are now available to iPhone and iPad owners in the United States with no update required. Apple Maps also provides curated guides from Michelin Guide, The Infatuation and Golf Digest.
On a related note, Apple Maps recently gained detailed guides ahead of the upcoming Formula 1 2025 season, including the Monaco Grand Prix circuit in 3D.
Apple TV+ unveils a food documentary
Apple TV+ has jumped on the bandwagon with the announcement of its very first food documentary, titled “Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars” and executive produced by British celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.
As the title indicates, the upcoming documentary will challenge world-class chefs around the world to score high ratings from Michelin Guide inspectors, who use false identities and phone numbers to dine anonymously. Apple has yet to announce a premiere date for this eight-episode documentary.
