The Formula 1 TAG Heuer Grand Prix de Monaco 2025 takes place May 23-25. Today, Apple unveiled a new city experience in the built-in Maps app that brings 3D models of featured locations like the F1 Paddock Club, Casino de Monte-Carlo, Fairmont Monte Carlo, Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo and Yacht Club de Monaco.

When night mode in the Maps app activates automatically at dusk, these 3D landmarks use a different color scheme and have a cool glow effect.

Apple TV+ is joining the action as well. On June 25, the Apple Original Film, called “F1 The Movie,” will be released in cinemas worldwide, starring Brad Pitt in the Formula One World Championship. The Maps app has already released a custom guide of Monaco and other iconic tracks from the movie. The flick will see a theatrical release on June 25 internationally and on June 27 in the United States and Canada, a few days before the 2025 Austrian Grand Prix.

“During the legendary Formula 1 TAG Heuer Grand Prix de Monaco 2025, you can move through the principality and track down important sights in Monaco and on the racetrack to feel like part of the action in the run-up to the theatrical release,” said Ian Holmes, Formula 1’s Chief Media Rights and Broadcasting Officer.

“Apple Maps is the best way to navigate and explore the world, so we’re excited to bring this amazing experience to F1 fans and attendees of the Grand Prix de Monaco,” Apple’s services chief Eddy Cue was quoted in the press release.

Aside from select 3D landmarks, the Maps app also features detailed graphics for grandstands and the finish line, as well as markers for the turns. To help people visiting Monaco, the Maps app displays relevant public transit routes, road markings, turn lanes, bus and bike lanes, road closures, pedestrian crossings and more for easier turn-by-turn navigation.
