Apple has a notoriously good reputation when it comes to online refurbished unit sales, as Apple refurbished devices (when sold directly by Apple) often look and work like new, while being offered at discounted prices and carrying the exact same product warranty of a new device.

For this reason, it may be of interest to some readers that Apple has added the iPhone 15 lineup to its online refurbished store for residents of both the United States and Canada, which may bring some of these devices closer into financial reach compared to buying new. The news was first spotted on Tuesday by our friends over at MacRumors.
Starting today:
- Refurbished iPhone 15 starts at $619 ($110 off brand new $729 MSRP cost)
- Refurbished iPhone 15 Plus starts at $699 ($130 off brand new $829 MSRP cost)
- Refurbished iPhone 15 Pro starts at $759 ($140 off brand new $899 MSRP cost)
- Refurbished iPhone 15 Pro Max starts at $929 ($170 off brand new $1,099 MSRP cost)
All refurbished iPhone 15 models are sold unlocked, which means that you can bring them to any cellular service carrier and have them activated with the embedded eSIM technology inside. Most carriers, including both mainstream and cheaper MVNOs support this technology, which means you can choose between plans that feature network quality or affordability while still having a relatively modern iPhone in your pocket.
Apple refurbished units get new outer shells, new internal batteries, and new USB-C cables, ensuring that they are as functional as they were the day they were originally sold without any battery degradation or exterior damage from past use.
It’s worth noting that Apple still sells the iPhone 15 & 15 Plus in their brand-new configuration; however, Apple no longer sells the iPhone 15 Pro & 15 Pro Max in their brand-new configuration and hasn’t since the launch of the iPhone 16 Pro & 16 Pro Max last September. With that in mind, folks wanting a pro-grade iPhone without the Camera Control are now in luck.
For what it’s worth, there may still be local retail store or carrier deals that offer equivalent brand-new handsets for less, especially now that the iPhone 15 series is nearing two years old. With that in mind, it’s still worth shopping around before buying directly from Apple’s refurbished store, even if they include the same warranty as a new device.
