After the United States imposed reciprocal tariffs on other counties, Nintendo announced at the beginning of the month that it was delaying pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 in the United States so that the company could “assess the potential impact of tariffs and evolving market conditions.”

At the time, Nintendo offered no insight as to when the Nintendo Switch 2 would go on pre-order in the United States, but they did say that the official launch date of June 5th remained fully intact. Fortunately, per an announcement shared on Friday, we finally know when the Nintendo Switch 2 will go on pre-order in the United States.
From what we can gather, Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders are set to begin on April 24th – or next Thursday. Despite tariffs, Nintendo says the Nintendo Switch 2 will remain priced at $449.99 and the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World game bundle will remain priced at $499.99. Likewise, early game releases will keep their announced prices as well – Mario Kart World will be $79.99 and Donkey Kong Bananza will be $69.99.
While surprising that Nintendo doesn’t plan to increase prices for the aforementioned items, the console and game maker will need to make up its losses somewhere, and it seems that accessories will be that gateway. Updated MSRP pricing for the following items, as of April 18th, will be as follows:
- Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller – $84.99 (up from $79.99)
- Joy-Con 2 Pair – $94.99 (up from $89.99)
- Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip – $39.99 (up from $34.99)
- Joy-Con 2 Strap – $13.99 (up from $12.99)
- Joy-Con 2 Wheel Set – $24.99 (up from $19.99)
- Nintendo Switch 2 Camera – $54.99 (up from $49.99)
- Nintendo Switch 2 Dock Set – $119.99 (up from $109.99)
- Nintendo Switch 2 Carrying Case & Screen Protector – $39.99 (up from $34.99)
- Nintendo Switch 2 All-in-One Carrying Case – $84.99 (up from $79.99)
- Nintendo Switch 2 AC Adapter – $34.99 (up from $29.99)
The price increases aren’t too steep, but if buying multiple accessories for the Nintendo Switch 2, you’ll definitely notice a larger dent in your wallet. For that reason, it may be advisable to hold off on accessories for now, at least until the tariff war cools down. The more important fact is that the Nintendo Switch 2 and the game releases will remain their regular price.
