Jailbreak news of the week: RootHide updates, ShootingStar, NotificationHub, MediaColor, & more…

The iDownloadBlog team is always following the latest trends in the iPhone and iPad jailbreak communities to keep our readers apprised of developments as they happen. Some weeks are faster paced than others, while some are slower. In any case, we’re here, reporting on what transpires for our readers.

Weekly jailbreak news roundup.

Since we know how hard it can be to keep up with the latest developments as they happen when you’re already juggling the strains of everyday life, we come at you every weekend with a roundup piece, much like this one, that brings everything together in an easy-to-read outline.

This week’s roundup encompasses the week of Monday, April 7th through Sunday, April 13th. We’ll begin by summarizing some of the most important news stories we’ve shared with you during this past week, and then we’ll wrap things up with an outline of the latest jailbreak tweak releases, roundups, and tutorials.

Important stuff from this week

ShootingStar

The ShootingStar jailbreak tweak lets jailbreakers send any iMessage with the same aesthetically-pleasing Shooting Star effect that they would get when sending the “Eid Mubarak” greeting to another iMessage user.

For some reason, this is the only iMessage effect that users can’t manually select when choosing animations for their iMessages, so this jailbreak tweak fixes that.

You can learn more about ShootingStar in our full review post.

NotificationHub

The new NotificationHub jailbreak tweak is a notification manager app that lets you view, filter, and manage previously-received notifications on your device – even those you’ve already opened and read.

This allows you to go back and find notifications you want to reference later, enabling you to refresh your memory when required for certain conversations, saved items you need reminders about, or other niche situations where access to notifications that you can no longer access in Notification Center might be beneficial (such as winning an argument when someone says they never sent you a certain message).

You can read our full review post about NotificationHub to learn more about it and where you can get it from.

UIScroller

This brilliant jailbreak tweak can auto-scroll at your preferred pace, allowing you see what’s new in your favorite apps without manual scrolling effort.

iOS 18.3.2 unsigned

iOS 18 downgrade.

Apple on Monday stopped signing iOS & iPadOS 18.3.2 in a move that prevents iPhone and iPad owners from downgrading from the newer iOS & iPadOS 18.4 firmware.

This is an anti-jailbreaking move that ensures users get pushed to the latest firmware, containing the best security patches and preventing users from installing vulnerable firmware.

You can learn more in our full news post.

MediaColor

MediaColor example.

MediaColor is a new and free jailbreak tweak that allows the Now Playing widget on the Lock Screen to adopt the dominant color of whatever your current song’s album artwork is.
