MediaColor colorizes the Lock Screen’s Now Playing widget based on the artwork’s dominant color

If you’re interested in a new jailbreak tweak that can enhance the aesthetic of your Lock Screen’s now playing experience, then you might want to take a quick look at a new and free jailbreak tweak called MediaColor by iOS developer NathanLR.

MediaColor example.

As shown in the screenshot example above, MediaColor can change the color of the Lock Screen’s now playing widget so that it uses the dominant color of whatever appears in your media’s album artwork.

The color applies to the background of the widget only, while the text for the album name, artist name, and glyph controls retains its natural color.

As noted in a post shared to social media platform 𝕏 by the developer, MediaColor works on jailbroken iPhones running iOS 16 only. It’s possible that support could come soon to iPads and to other versions of iOS & iPadOS, but the roadmap seems unclear this early in the tweak’s development cycle.

If you’re interested in giving MediaColor a try, then you can download it for free from NathanLR’s personal repository via your favorite package manager app.

Those not already taking advantage of NathanLR’s repository can add it to their package manager app using the URL provided below:
