Nugget, an iPhone customization utility by iOS developer LeminLimez that utilizes the SparseRestore exploit to enable various forms of jailbreak-like customization without a jailbreak, received two important updates in the past couple of days that all users should be taking advantage of.
LeminLimez announced both updates by way of the Cowabunga Discord server, but users can find both updates even if they aren’t using the Discord server by visiting the Nugget project’s GitHub page.
The first update, which came in the form of version 5.0.2 on Sunday, introduces the following changes:
– Add iOS 16 support to PosterBoard
– Note: This only works on descriptors right now and will not work on containers
– Not all wallpapers will work
– Remove the Windows Path Fix option
– If you are having issues, please disable the Windows path limit
– Fix an issue where skip setup would cause a failure to restore
– Fix message with PasswordRequiredError not showing up
– Compiled and tested on real Windows hardware this time to ensure safety and functionality, if it gets more anti-virus false positives, I (LeminLimez) will try something else
The newer update, version 5.0.3, was released just Monday afternoon, and introduces the following changes:
– Moved PosterBoard tab to the top since it is the most popular feature
– Fixed error caused when trying to remove temporary files after applying has already finished
– Windows: Fixed the FileNotFoundError when trying to apply tendies files with long paths when max path is set to 256 characters
According to LeminLimez in a comment shared via the Discord server, Nugget version 5.0.3 finally fixes the issues that users were having in Windows, so it is now the latest recommended version for all users – especially those using Windows machines instead of macOS machines.
If you’re an existing Nugget user, then you can safely download and install the latest version of Nugget from the project’s GitHub page and begin using it the next time you want to apply a hack to your supported device. Nugget works on iPhones running iOS 17.0-18.4 developer beta, and one of the hottest new features to be added in recent memory is the ability to use animated wallpapers – including third-party ones.
While Nugget doesn’t require a jailbreak to use, many of the hacks and add-ons that can be installed with Nugget mimic jailbreak tweak-like functionality. On the other hand, it’s recommended that you back up your device prior to using Nugget, as there is a small risk of boot-looping your device if you configure something incorrectly.
Have you downloaded and used the latest version of Nugget yet? And if using a Windows machine, have you found these updates to be satisfactory? Let us know why or why not in the comments section down below.
