Jailbreak news of the week: Dig3st, Nugget v5.1 teaser, iOS 18.3.1 unsigned, & more…

Your friends at iDownloadBlog are avid fans of jailbreaking iPhones and iPads. We’ve done it for more than a decade, and it’s a fun experience that we still partake in despite the slowing of new releases and jailbreak tools.

Weekly jailbreak news roundup.

Since we want as many people to be able to enjoy the hobby of jailbreaking as possible, we compose detailed step-by-step guides and break news about the latest releases as they happen throughout the week (and yes, even on weekends). But since many peoples’ schedules vary, we like to come at you every Sunday morning with a roundup just like this one, which brings it all together so you don’t miss a beat.

In this week’s roundup, we’ll be discussing everything new in the iPhone and iPad hacking & jailbreaking communities spanning the week of Monday, March 17th through Sunday, March, 23rd. We’ll discuss our favorite news stories first and then wrap things up with an outline of the latest jailbreak tweak updates afterward.

Nugget v5.1 to get video wallpaper supportAn example of a video wallpaper in Nugget v5.1.

Nugget v5 is already in the hands of beta testers with animated wallpaper support, but in an announcement shared just this past week, we learned that developer LeminLimez is already working on the next big thing.

Indeed, Nugget v5.1 will add support for video wallpapers, allowing users to pick a .mov file from their Photo Library to use as their wallpaper.

You can learn more about this in our full news post.

iOS & iPadOS 18.3.1 unsigned

iOS 18 downgrade.

Apple just this past week stopped signing iOS & iPadOS 18.3.1 in a move that prevents iPhone and iPad owners from downgrading from the newer iOS & iPadOS 18.3.2 firmware.

You can learn more about the implications of this change in our full news post.

MiniIsland

MiniIsland before and after image.

The MiniIsland jailbreak tweak can make the Dynamic Island narrower on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max when listening to Music, preventing the wide Dynamic Island from forcing Status Bar icons to disappear in certain cases.
