Apple Intelligence unlocks some powerful AI-centric features on the iPhone 15 Pro series and later, with one prominent example being notification summaries. But say you had an older device that doesn’t support Apple Intelligence and wanted notification summaries on your device; ordinarily, you’d be out of luck, but with a new jailbreak tweak called dig3st by iOS developer uncor3, Apple Intelligence-style notification summaries can be had on more devices.

As an open-source jailbreak tweak, you can find the source code for dig3st on the developer’s GitHub page. We first learned about it in a post shared by the developer to /r/jailbreak on Tuesday, and from what we can gather, a lot of jailbreakers appear to be rather hyped by it because it breathes new life into their aging jailbroken handsets.
In the animated GIF example above, you can see how users can interact with incoming notifications in order to view a summarized report of what the notification is actually about. In this case, an incoming email notification is about an unrecognized Google account sign-in on a Linux device, and it guides the user on the next steps to verify the device. A demonstration and setup how-to video by the developer is also embedded below for your viewing pleasure:
The dig3st tweak is compatible with a wide range of notifications, but it doesn’t work for all of them. It especially doesn’t work with notification groups, as it’s intended for individual notifications only. It does require some setup, and when you install the tweak on your jailbroken device, you will also need to configure it how you want.
Once installed, dig3st adds a dedicated preference pane in the Settings app where you can configure a multitude of different options to your liking:
Among the things you can do here are:
- Toggle dig3st on or off on demand
- Edit and manage OpenAI endpoints
- Enter prompt text
- Enable internal sanity checks
- Enable checking the API after every respring
- Enter a minimum message length
- Enter a timeout period
- Send a fake test notification
- Enable or disable dig3st for individual apps on your device
- Reset all options to their default
- Respring your device to save all changes
- And more…
In a blog post, uncor3 says that they eventually want to port more of Apple Intelligence’s unique features to additional unsupported devices, starting with Photo Clean Up, a feature that uses artificial intelligence to boost the quality of images in the Photos app.
We look forward to seeing not only how our readers take to the new dig3st jailbreak tweak, but also how future release by uncor3 will reignite interest in jailbreak tweak releases in a stagnant community as of late.
If you’re interested in giving the dig3st jailbreak tweak a try for yourself, then you can download it for free from the developer’s GitHub repository. Thet weak is compatible with jailbroken iOS & iPadOS 15, 16, and 17 devices and works on both rootless and rootful jailbreak variants.
Those not already taking advantage of uncor3’s personal repository can add it to their favorite package manager app with the URL provided below:
