K2geIsland lets jailbreakers in iOS 16 do amazing custom things with the Dynamic Island

Whether you have an iPhone with a native Dynamic Island or you’ve used some add-on to replicate the Dynamic Island user experience on a notched handset, you can take advantage of a newly released jailbreak tweak called K2geIsland by iOS developer mafu to get more out of it.

K2geIsland preference pane examples one.

According to the K2geIsland website, this tweak is intended to give users more control over their Dynamic Island, including things like customizing the color and opacity dynamically, adjusting the position and size on a whim, controlling what apps or elements do or don’t appear, changing what things in the Dynamic Island look like, and hiding the Dynamic Island when not in use, among other things.

Screenshot examples of the tweak appear above and below, not only depicting some of the customizations as applied to the Dynamic Island, but also showcasing the tweak’s preferences panes in the Settings app post-installation. The developer also posted a short demonstration video on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) for those wanting to see the tweak at work.

As you can see, there’s quite a lot you can do with the K2geIsland jailbreak tweak. It has been specifically tailored for iOS 16 devices, especially the iPhone 14 Pro series, which includes the Dynamic Island right out of the box. Of course, you can also enable the Dynamic Island on notched handsets with the sideloadable DynamicCow app, so it’s possible to get the same great experience on certain older devices.

Unlike most jailbreak tweaks, K2geIsland isn’t available via a standard repository in your favorite package manager app, but rather users can purchase the tweak and a license from the developer’s website for $3.99 and install the tweak manually while entering their license code to activate it. The tweak also only supports iOS 16, as iOS 15 lacks the resources needed for the Dynamic Island.

We should also add that the K2geIsland jailbreak tweak is fully compatible with both rootless and rootful jailbreaks, as well as the RootHide bootstrap.
