Jailbreak news of the week: Dopamine anniversary update, Windows Phone Hackintosh, SwishBar, & more…

Jailbreaking iPhones is a special hobby that requires a special type of person – specifically, it requires the type of person who wields a curious mind that always strives to do more with their rightfully owned handset than Apple intends with its own software out of the box.

Weekly jailbreak news roundup.

The iDB staff have always had a soft spot for jailbreaking, which is why we’ve spent so many years covering news and releases about it. Despite the slowing release of jailbreaks in recent memory, we continue to cover new developments as they happen and show you the latest jailbreak tweak releases and updates in real time.

In this week’s roundup, we’ll be taking a closer look at all jailbreak-related news posts and jailbreak tweak releases and updates from this past work week, spanning Monday, February 17th to Sunday, February 23rd.

Dopamine updates

The Dopamine jailbreak received important updates this past week that not only helped address Spinlock panics on arm64e devices running iOS 15, but also improved the “Hide Jailbreak” feature to make it less detectable by applications on your device.

You can learn more about the latest Dopamine updates below:

Windows Phone Hackintosh

Windows Phone Hackintosh.

A seasoned Hackintosh user shared on Reddit a DIY project in which they retrofitted the hardware components of an iPhone SE 3 into a Windows Phone-based Lumia 1020 chassis.

The device is fully functional, despite many of the parts being relocated to suit the Lumia 1020 chassis.

You can learn more about this project in our full news post.

iOS 18.3 unsigned

iOS 18 downgrade.

Apple on Monday stopped signing iOS & iPadOS 18.3, which means it’s no longer possible to downgrade from the newer iOS & iPadOS 18.3.1 firmware.

You can learn more about what this means in our full news post.
