SwishBar keeps the Status Bar visible as you use your jailbroken iPhone’s App Switcher

The Status Bar is one of the most important informative components of the iOS user interface, containing not only the current time, but also your cellular and Wi-Fi connectivity status, among other things. With that in mind, it’s a head scratcher as to why Apple excluded it from the App Switcher.

With a free jailbreak tweak called SwishBar by iOS developer CydiaGeek, it’s possible to force the Status Bar to appear even in the App Switcher user interface, as shown in the before and after screenshot examples above.

While it’s a minor change to the iOS user interface, we feel that the brief interruption of seeing the pertinent details shown in the Status Bar while using the App Switcher is an unnecessary one. That said, SwishBar seems like an improvement to the native user experience on the iPhone.

With no options to configure, SwishBar is a simple install-and-use jailbreak tweak. To revert back to a stock App Switcher experience, one would need to uninstall the tweak, as there is no toggle switch.

Those interested in giving the free SwishBar jailbreak tweak a try can download it for free from the YouRepo repository. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS 15 and 16 devices.

If you’re not using the YouRepo repository yet, then you can add it to your package manager app of choice by using the URL provided below:
