WaterField Designs’ briefcase has a dual device compartment for laptops and tablets, strategically placed magnetic pockets and other perks.

The briefcase features an internal compartment with two sleeves, one for a tablet like iPad Pro and the other for a laptop like your MacBook with cutouts in corners for charging. Both of these pockets are padded with fleece and firm foam on one side to protect your devices from scratches and dings. The main compartment also includes a collapsible water bottle sleeve that holds the bottle upright to prevent leakage.
The new Shinjuku Laptop Brief is available to purchase starting today from the WaterField Designs website, priced between $379 and $399 depending on your choice of material, size and carry options.
Meet WaterField Designs’ slim Shinjuku laptop briefcase
WaterField are masters at producing versatile carrying bags and the new Shinjuku Laptop Brief is no exception. In addition to the main compartment, you’ll find three pen slots and two internal pockets, one of which has a handy key tether so you won’t have to hunt for your keys.
I sometimes struggle to find small black cables, USB sticks and similar in all-black carrying cases. WaterField has long solved this problem by equipping its bags and cases with a bright gold, water-resistant liner, which creates a contrasting background making it easy to locate small items.
On the outside, you’re got a pair of front pockets that expand to fit your wallet, sunglasses and similar personal items. On the rear side, you’ll find a quick-access pocket for items like your iPhone, ID and metro cards and such. The exterior pockets use magnetic zipper that close automatically, with pocket flaps secured with magnets. Other perks include YKK waterproof zippers, custom metal zipper pulls, a metal key hook and more.
The Shinjuku Laptop Brief is part of WaterField’s Shinjuku Collection of shoulder bags, backpacks, briefcases, duffels, gaming cases, wallets and cases for tech devices inspired by Tokyo’s most vibrant district and famously efficient transit system. “Each brief is handcrafted to meticulous standards in our San Francisco workshop,” reads the announcement.
