Best reasons to jailbreak in 2025

While the jailbreak community continues to shrink year after year due to the difficulty in developing jailbreaks for modern devices and firmware versions, that hasn’t kept hardcore jailbreak-clingers from sticking with their older, jailbreakable handsets and avoiding software updates.

iOS 18.2.1 unsigned

Apple on Monday closed the signing window for iOS & iPadOS 18.2.1, which effectively blocks firmware downgrades from iOS & iPadOS 18.3 – the latest release at the time of this writing.

YouSlider

The YouSlider jailbreak tweak by PoomSmart allows jailbreakers to customize their YouTube app’s progress bar and scrubber with custom colors, images, and sizes, among other things.

All changes happen inside of the YouTube app itself, making it super convenient to try out and dial in.

ZebraNoRespring

ZebraNoRespring is a new jailbreak tweak that prevents the Zebra package manager from performing a BackBoard respring when installing add-ons that require a respring.

Instead, you can use a FrontBoard-style respring method after installing add-ons, which comes with benefits such as not killing the Now Playing app.

SquidExtender v3.6.5 released: Add reverse proxy URL can now be set in the GPT preset “Gemini” server settings, GPT now supports displaying the process of reasoning when it comes to reasoning models, GPT now resets the last selected model to the first model of the switched server after a server switch, fix a problem where GPT custom servers couldn’t fetch models, add GPT: mobile custom servers being able to use the “+” button in the upper right corner, add DeepSeek preset server, optimize so that existing text in the input bar will be translated first when turning on instant translation, fix issue with not working with the native SMS notification drown-down reply interface, fix crash that could occur when executing scripts in NewTerm3 ($6.99 via Havoc repository – review post)
