The iDownloadBlog team remains committed to following the latest projects in the jailbreak community and bringing them to your attention so that you can get the most out of your pwned device.
This piece will capture all the latest news tidbits in the jailbreak space, as well as all releases and updates pertaining to jailbreak tweaks spanning the week of Monday, February 3rd through Sunday, February 9th, and bring it all together in one convenient piece.
We’ll start with the important news stuffs and then wrap things up with an outline of the latest jailbreak tweak updates below that.
Important stuff from this week
Best reasons to jailbreak in 2025
While the jailbreak community continues to shrink year after year due to the difficulty in developing jailbreaks for modern devices and firmware versions, that hasn’t kept hardcore jailbreak-clingers from sticking with their older, jailbreakable handsets and avoiding software updates.
Not sure if this is the right lifestyle for you? Fret not… your friends at iDownloadBlog have made a list of what we believe are some of the most compelling reasons to jailbreak your iPhone or iPad in 2025 despite the fact that your choices are somewhat limited in this day and age.
iOS 18.2.1 unsigned
Apple on Monday closed the signing window for iOS & iPadOS 18.2.1, which effectively blocks firmware downgrades from iOS & iPadOS 18.3 – the latest release at the time of this writing.
You can learn more about the effects of this change in our full news post.
YouSlider
The YouSlider jailbreak tweak by PoomSmart allows jailbreakers to customize their YouTube app’s progress bar and scrubber with custom colors, images, and sizes, among other things.
All changes happen inside of the YouTube app itself, making it super convenient to try out and dial in.
You can read our full review about YouSlider to learn more about it.
ZebraNoRespring
ZebraNoRespring is a new jailbreak tweak that prevents the Zebra package manager from performing a BackBoard respring when installing add-ons that require a respring.
Instead, you can use a FrontBoard-style respring method after installing add-ons, which comes with benefits such as not killing the Now Playing app.
You can learn more about ZebraNoRespring and the developer’s motives in our full review post.
