At long last, the Netflix app for iPhone and iPad allows you to download an entire season of a series for offline viewing via a newly added Season Download button.
Previously an Android-only feature, Netflix has expanded the Season Download button to its iPhone and iPad app. It’s the quickest way to download every episode from a selected TV season.
The button requires the latest version of the mobile Netflix app. If you have the app installed on your iPhone or iPad, check that you have the latest versions by opening Neflix’s App Store page. If you see the Update button, there’s a new version available; click the button to keep your copy of the Netflix app up to date.
Netflix for iOS brings full-season downloads
Netflix’s announcement says the full-season download button is on show pages, next to the Share button. Clicking it prompts Netflix to start downloading an entire season immediately, so you can binge-watch it later without an internet connection instead of downloading episodes one at a time.
“Downloads will expire after a period of time, and some have a limit on how many times they can be downloaded per year,” according to the Netflix Help Center. You can manage all your downloads in the Downloads section under the My Netflix tab.
To celebrate the launch, the streamer disclosed the 5 most downloaded seasons of all time: “Squid Game Season 1,” “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,” “Squid Game Season 2,” “ONE PIECE” and “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.”
Netflix introduced offline watching in November 2016 for select series and later expanded the feature to almost all TV series and movies in its catalog. Look for the downloads icon to see if a specific video can be downloaded or filter by what’s available for download. If you’re interested why all TV shows and movies are not neccesasrily available for download, read Netflix’s support page.
