LPMNoWakeWhenCharge keeps notifications from screen-waking a charging iPhone in Low Power Mode

For some people, being able to charge their iPhone’s battery up as quickly as possible is important, especially when you’re crunched for time. For example, leaving the house and wanting every last drop of power deposited into your iPhone’s built-in battery before your wife yells, “come on, we’re going to be late!”

Low Power Mode.

One of the things that can seriously slow down a device’s charging speed is the built-in display, and this is especially the case if you have an older LCD display compared to modern and more power efficient OLED displays.

Imagine receiving incoming notifications that light up your display while you’re using Low Power Mode to reduce power consumption as your device charges up. That’s going to affect your charging speed because your battery must supply power to your display while simultaneously trying to charge. The result is that you have less power in your battery than if your display never turned on at all.

If you’re into squeezing every last drop of juice out of your charging experience when you use Low Power Mode while charging, then you might appreciate a newly released and free jailbreak tweak called LPMNoWakeWhenCharge by iOS developer CydiaGeek, because it prevents the display from waking for notifications when two things are true: 1) Low Power Mode is turned on; and 2) your device is charging.

With LPMNoWakeWhenCharge at your disposal, you have more control over those last-minute power boosts because you can prevent your battery’s finite power from being used to turn on your display when someone texts you or when Fred updates his Facebook status. Consequently, you get to conserve power and charge more quickly.

The difference in charging speed isn’t likely to be substantial unless you’re someone who just receives an insane number of notifications throughout the day, but it’s a way for hyper-milers to get more out of their charging experience when they have no option otherwise.

If you’re interested in giving LPMNoWakeWhenCharge a try, then you can download it for free on your jailbroken device running iOS 13 or later from the BigBoss repository via your favorite package manager app. There are no options to configure, as the tweak begins working from the moment you install it.
