Topaz Photo AI v3.4.4 released with support for more camera DCPs, several bug fixes

Topaz Photo AI, one of my favorite photo editing tools on the Mac, received a minor update on Tuesday to version 3.4.4 that adds new features and bug fixes.

Topaz Photo AI v3.4.4 released.

Existing users are prompted to install the latest update with a gold-colored update notification at the top-right of the application upon launching it, and citing the official change log, Topaz Photo AI v3.4.4 introduces the following changes:

– Add support for Fujifilm GFX 100s II
– Add OM Systems DCPs
– Fix error in batch processing when applying upscale to multiple images
– Fix errors in batch processing when exploring raw riles with presets or apply current settings to all
– Fix preserve text suggested multiple times for some images
– Super focus regenerate button changes to render button when settings are changed
– Automatic Lensfun Update

Perhaps the biggest changes in this update are the support for camera profiles for OM systems RAW files and support for the Fugifilm GFX 100s II. Specifically, the Topaz team says in a blog post that camera profiles for RAW files coming off the OM-1, OM-5, and OM-1 Mark II are now supported and that there have been significant improvements to color saturation as to match the preview you’d see in camera or in other apps.

There’s still a known issue where OM systems camera profiles aren’t applied to the RAW file when using the Lightroom Classic File > Plug-in Extras workflow option, but as the blog post states, the team continues to update Topaz Photo AI with additional bug fixes as needed.

Other changes include fixes for errors that could transpire when upscaling more than one image and when exploring RAW files with presets, as well as a fix for an issue where the preserve text option could be suggested by the Topaz Photo AI app more than once for certain types of images.

If you haven’t tried Topaz Photo AI yet, then I’d seriously recommend trying it out. Available for both macOS and Windows machines, this software can fix many human errors in photographs, including camera shake, out of focus subjects, noise, and can even upscale low-resolution images.

Topaz Photo AI is normally $199 from the company’s website, but it appears to be on sale for $169 for a limited time.
