If there’s anything we love more than a good Apple story, is the opportunity to report on a new jailbreak tweak or being able to share when there’s a jailbreak launch. Unfortunately, these sorts of things just don’t happen as often as they used to.
Still, you can count on us to bring that information to you as soon as it happens, or at a pace fast enough that you’ll be able to keep up with things even while going about your regular course of life. And when things do get complicated, we’re here for you in the form of step-by-step tutorials to guide you in the right direction.
Every week, we curate a roundup piece with the latest content for that week, and this Sunday morning, we’ve got a roundup that encompasses all the latest jailbreak tweak releases and Apple hacking news spanning Monday, January 14th to Sunday, January 19th.
Important stuff from this week

You can learn more about the implications, as well as what you can do about it to ensure your device continues blocking software updates in our full news post.

Lyncis JailbreakMe-style jailbreak for 32-bit iOS 7.1.x
32-bit devices running iOS 7.1.x now have a JailbreakMe-style WebKit-based untethered jailbreak called Lyncis that they can access directly from the Safari web browser on their device.
Using this jailbreak, intended only for legacy devices, installs the Cydia package manager and offers an easy way to jailbreak one’s supported device.
You can learn more about Lyncis in our full news post.
Havoc repo here to stay
The Havoc repository announced on Monday that it had a profitable year of 2024 and that its profitability is very much self-sustainable.
Because of this successful business model, the Havoc repository is here to stay for the long term, even as jailbreak releases become fewer and further between.
You can learn more about why this is good news in our full news post.
Cauxo
The new Cauxo jailbreak tweak for rootless jailbreaks on iOS 16 allows users to access an aesthetically pleasing App Switcher from the CarPlay user interface.
You can not only switch between recently used apps with Cauxo, but you can also forcefully close any app that appears in the App Switcher like you can on the iPhone.
You can learn more about Cauxo in our full review post.
