Live Activities: Track your Disney mobile food orders on the iPhone’s lockscreen

The Disneyland and Walt Disney World mobile apps now let you track your food orders live on the iPhone’s lockscreen without opening the apps.

The updates started rolling today. If you already have these apps installed on your iPhone, be sure to get the latest versions. You can do so by opening the App Store pages for the Disneyland and Walt Disney World (renamed My Disney Experience) apps and clicking the Update button. After that, open each app at least once so that its live activity registers with the system.

To order your food in the app and skip waiting in line, hit the + (plus) icon at the bottom center of the interface and choose Order Food. When you complete your order and payment, a live activity for your order pops up on the lockscreen and in the Dynamic Island area.

Once you arrive at your designated pick-up location, you can choose the “I’m Here” option from the live activity, which will prompt the kitchen to begin prepping your order. You’ll receive a notification on your device when your food is ready. You can pick up your overt at the counter marked with “Mobile Order Pick Up.”

The Live Activities feature is supported in many other apps, including Uber and Fantastical. Apps that support the feature can provide updates directly on the lockscreen and Dynamic Island. Live Activites require a compatible iPhone running iOS 16.1 or later. The feature also works on iPhones without Dynamic Island.

Mobile food orders are available at select venues across Disney’s US parks, including Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, EPCOT and more. The complete list is available on the WDMagic website.
