palera1n updates

Palera1n jailbreak.

The palera1n jailbreak, which harnesses the power of the checkm8 hardware-based bootrom exploit, received an important update this past week with support for new iPadOS firmware and tvOS improvements.

You can learn about the latest palera1n jailbreak updates in our posts below:

iPadOS 19 may end support for checkm8 hardware

The last remaining checkm8-vulnerable device that can still run the latest firmware is the iPad (7th generation). But when iPadOS 19 comes out in 2025, it’s unlikely that it will continue to receive the latest software updates.

This is bad news for anyone who uses the palera1n jailbreak, but the good news is all existing jailbreakable devices by way of the checkm8 exploit will remain jailbreakable for life.

iPad (6th generation) hacked to run iPadOS 18

iPad (6th generation) hacked to run iPadOS 18.

The only checkm8-vulnerable iPad that can officially run iPadOS 18 is the iPad (7th generation). But it seems that hackers have managed to port support over to the iPad (6th generation).

This is particularly interesting because the iPad (6th generation) and iPad (7th generation) have the same A10 Fusion chip inside of them.

Rode

Sometimes people just like to glance over your shoulder to find out what your passcode is when you begin to enter it, and this can be a very annoying type of attack that can make you anxious.

Fortunately, the Rode jailbreak tweak can prevent this by randomizing the positions of your passcode buttons each time you go to unlock your device, preventing someone from using the button positions to guess what your passcode is.

You can learn more about Rode in our full review post.

CanvasSync

If you’re looking for a new and fun way to interact with Now Playing music on your device, then try the new CanvasSync jailbreak tweak.

This add-on sets the Spotify Canvas, or the Now Playing media album artwork as your device’s Lock Screen and/or Home Screen wallpaper, and is highly configurable at that.

You can learn more about CanvasSync and what you can do with it in our full review post.
