Read the official watchOS 11.2 release notes to learn about a new feature in the Camera Remote and other changes in this Apple Watch update.
iOS and iPadOS 18.2 and macOS Sequoia 15.2 brought new Apple Intelligence features and many tweaks, but watchOS 11.2 only has two new features.
The first lets you pause iPhone video recordingin the built-in Remote Camera app. Controlling the iPhone camera from Apple Watch is an excellent feature. I’ve been using Camera Remote to take Live Photos and record videos on my iPhone, and now it’s even better thanks to the ability to remotely pause video recording.
The second new feature is for Chinese Apple Watch owners, who can now use the built-in Tides app to check tidal conditions for coastal locations in the country.

Apple Watch and Apple Intelligence
Due to its processing and battery restraints, Apple Watch doesn’t support Apple Intelligence with one key exception—notification summaries. As long as your iPhone supports Apple Intelligence, you’ll receive brief AI-powered summaries of notifications that make even more sense on the watch’s tiny display.
Unfortunately, they’re unavailable in the built-in Mail app. The watch also doesn’t support AI-powered Smart Reply suggestions in Messages. There’s no ChatGPT integration and Siri doesn’t benefit from Apple’s large-language models.
