Legizmo ‘Moonstone’ enables pairing watchOS 6.0-11.x Apple Watches with jailbroken iPhones on iOS 14 & later

Jailbreakers who depend on an Apple Watch as a companion device for when their iPhone is slightly out of reach have come to appreciate lunotech11’s Legizmo series of jailbreak tweaks. These tweaks generally allow Apple Watches running certain versions of watchOS to pair with ordinarily unsupported versions of iOS.

Adding to the long legacy of Legizmo jailbreak tweaks this week, luntotech11 has just released Legizmo ‘Moonstone,’ an add-on that allows Apple Watches running watchOS 6.0 through 11.x to pair seamlessly with jailbroken versions of iOS 14 and newer.

As noted in the tweak’s depiction page on the Chariz repository, Legizmo ‘Moonstone’ makes it so that jailbreakers can pair even the latest Apple Watches on older versions of iOS without missing out on important features. It supports both a tweak and native method that you get to pick from, allowing you to use the devices together in either jailbroken or non-jailbroken states.

When pairing an unsupported Apple Watch to your iPhone running an older version of iOS, the tweak will guide you through the pairing process to make it as seamless as possible.

An Apple Watch paired with an iPhone via Legizmo ‘Moonstone’ can access most of the same features that someone running a current version of iOS could by offering a set of fixes that port newer features to older versions of iOS and/or fix potential inconsistences that can occur between incompatible versions.

Another neat feature of Legizmo ‘Moonstone’ is that you can use it to scan the pairing code on an Apple Watch to determine if it’s compatible with the tweak. It will let you know whether you do or don’t need Legizmo, as well as whether it might just work with your version of iOS without any tweaking involved.

As for software updates, you can continue to update your version of watchOS while preserving the version of iOS that you use for your jailbreak experience on your iPhone. Incompatible updates are automatically blocked until Legizmo can be updated to support them, so it’s a foolproof way of pairing your devices.

If you have any questions about using the Legizmo ‘Moonstone’ product, or need support, then you can join the project’s Discord server for more information. An official website is also available that tries to educate prospective users about what version of Legizmo they may need to use for their specific watchOS & iOS combination.

Legizmo ‘Moonstone,’ for those interested, is available as a $4.99 purchase from the Chariz repository via whatever package manager app you might be using on your jailbroken device.
