iOS developer LeminLimez released an updated version of the Nugget Mobile on-device SparseRestore exploit-based iPhone customization utility this week, this time bringing it up to version 2.0.1.
The developer announced the latest update via a post shared to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), linking to the project’s GitHub repository where it’s being hosted, and from what we can gather, this update introduces the following changes:
– Fix skip setup breaking Minimuxer and existing configuration profiles
– Modify how domains are handled on iOS 18.2 developer beta 2 and later
Since a previous version could quite literally break important configuration profiles that users may have installed and depended on, this is potentially a very important update for some users.
Unlike the traditional version of Nugget, Nugget Mobile is an on-device utility that doesn’t require a computer. It works by utilizing the SparseRestore exploit to write files outside of the intended restore location, such as mobilegestalt.
Nugget Mobile support iOS 16.0-18.2 developer beta 2 (and public beta 1) and can be installed either via TrollStore perma-signing or with a sideloading utility such as AltStore or Sideloadly. No jailbreak is required.
Making use of SparseRestore-based non-jailbreak device customization utilities such as Nugget Mobile (and others) does carry a risk of boot-looping your device. This can be especially dangerous if you don’t know what you’re doing or how to recover from it, so you should only use Nugget Mobile if you’re comfortable with the risks.
Should you plan to make use of Nugget Mobile, it’s highly recommended that you back up your device beforehand.
NuggetMobile is a free download from the developer’s GitHub page. You can also join the developer’s GitHub server to be among the first to know when an update becomes available or to ask for support.
