MusicTrail keeps a customizable running history of songs jailbreakers play in Spotify Music

Would you appreciate the Spotify Music app more if there was an easier way to discern what music you’ve recently listened to in a beautifully organized fashion? If so, then a free jailbreak tweak called MusicTrail by iOS developer b4db1r3 might be just what you need.

MusicTrail

This tweak automatically logs your music playback so that you can always look back on what you’ve listened to and includes pertinent information besides the song name to include the artist’s name, the playback duration, and the album artwork of that song.

MusicTrail adds a History button to the Spotify Music app’s user interface, which you can tap on to reveal the sleek table-format interactive history viewer. The list automatically sorts by playback date so that you can easily discern when you listened to a track for easier discovery.

If at any time you want to re-hear a song that appears in your Spotify Music history list, you can tap on it to play that song. You can also shuffle through the history log; however, the developer mentions that this functionality is experimental and may not work as expected.

Worried that your music history list might one day exceed its usefulness? Don’t be. You can customize how long the song log threshold can be, and the tweak won’t log more song history items than the threshold you’ve set.

At this point in time, MusicTrail is only intended for the Spotify Music app, but the developer appears to have plans to integrate support for other music apps in the future. While we don’t know exactly what apps those will be, we expect that the Apple Music app would be a no-brainer.

If you’re interested in giving the MusicTrail jailbreak tweak a try, then you can download it for free from the YouRepo repository via your favorite package manager app. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS 15 and 16 devices and works with the latest version of the Spotify app at the time of this writing.

Anyone who isn’t already taking advantage of the YouRepo repository can add it to their package manager app of choice by using the URL provided below:
