Unless you begin charging your iPhone with a MagSafe or Qi2-enabled wireless charger, there isn’t much of a charging animation to speak of. iOS developer Mysteryexe decided to change that, and so a free jailbreak tweak called Sanjeh was conceived.
Sanjeh adds fancy battery charging pop-up animations to your iPhone for when you connect it to a power source, whether that’s a charging cable or a basic Qi wireless charger; and before you ask, it does work with MagSafe and Qi2 as well.
As you can see for yourself in the screenshot examples above, Sanjeh’s battery pop-ups are customizable. You can configure your favorite color options for the battery fill, font for the background battery percentage text, and background options, among other things.
Users will find a dedicated preference pane for Sanjeh in the Settings app post-installation, where they can configure several options to their liking:
Things that you can do here include:
- Toggling Sanjeh on or off on demand
- Configuring a size for the battery animation
- Choosing a 100% charged battery tint color
- Choosing a 0% drained battery tint color
- Enabling or disabling a background blur behind the battery animation
- Adjusting the opacity of the background via a slider
- Choosing a background color
- Choosing your preferred font via a slider (there are 5 to pick from and #5 uses a custom font)
- Enabling debug mode for bug reporting
- Respringing your device to save any changes you’ve made here
One of the things we thought was cool was that if you don’t like any of the pre-installed fonts, you can load one of your own in the .ttf format into /Library/PreferenceBundles/SanjehPreferences.bundle/Fonts and then you can select by moving the slider to “5” in the preference pane above. If you choose not to do this, then you can use any of the other 4 pre-loaded font options.
The developer notes that Sanjeh was made with smooth animations and full compatibility with the Always-On Display for devices that support them. This ensures that you have a user experience you can be proud of.
If you’re interested in giving Sanjeh a try, then you can download it for free from the Havoc repository via your favorite package manager app. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS & iPadOS 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18 devices and can make any device pop when connected to power for a charging session.
