Configure system toggles & behaviors on a per-app basis in great detail with Appaze 3

Sometimes iPhone users get used to performing certain routines in individual apps on their device, and in some instances, that could mean changing the device’s settings for an ideal usage environment for those apps.

Recognizing this niche, iOS developer AnthoPak has released a jailbreak tweak called Appaze 3, the newest iteration of an add-on that originally started off as a means to configure preferred display brightness levels and volume levels for individual apps so that they’d automatically become those levels when launching those apps.

While the above settings are still valid reasons to take advantage of an add-on like Appaze 3, it’s worth noting that this iteration does so much more than that, and that’s why it’s an easily recommendable tweak for anyone using jailbroken iOS & iPadOS 15, 16, 17, and even 18 devices.

With Appaze 3, you can use a 3D Touch/Haptic Touch gesture on an app’s icon from the Home Screen to open the Appaze 3 configuration interface, which lets you configure various device settings that take effect whenever you launch that specific app. This interface takes on a round aesthetic and you’ll find that it’s divided into both Toggles and Behaviors, which each section having its own unique set of things to configure.

As you might be able to ascertain from the screenshot examples above, there’s a lot going on with Appaze 3 – so much, in fact, that you’ll find a suite of options to configure in the Settings app post-installation where you can set everything up how you want to use it:

Under the Miscellaneous preference pane, users can restore values to what they were prior to launching the app when opening Notification Center or viewing the Lock Screen.

That just about summarizes the preference panes that you’ll find in the Settings app, and as you can see for yourself, there’s no shortage of options for making this tweak work exactly how you want it to.

There are tons of instances where Appaze 3 might be of use to iPhone and iPad users. The developer outlines just a few of those in the tweak’s Depiction page in the Chariz repository:

– Optimize your daily routine:
Customize your favorite navigation app with a custom volume and brightness, Bluetooth/Location/Cellular ON and Rotation Lock/Wi-Fi OFF
Customize your favorite video apps with Rotation Lock OFF and Wi-Fi ON and set them to hide intrusive contents like banners and bottom bar

– Improve your gaming experience:
Customize your favorite games with Behaviors to prevent accidental gestures or hide intrusive content. Some games can cause unwanted gestures so depending on the game, disable NC/CC/Home/Reachability gestures. Some notifications or Low Battery alerts can sometimes make you loose a live game. Configure Appaze to hide those intrusive contents so that they won’t disturb you while playing. Content of the hidden notifications/alerts can be shown in a non-intrusive popup to ensure you don’t miss any information. And for those who love to start gaming with no other apps running, there’s a Behavior for that!

– Protect your privacy:
Concerned about your privacy? Configure Appaze to only enable Location service on the apps you want. If you use a VPN, you might want to only enable it for some apps, or the opposite, disable it in some apps that require your real location.

– Don’t get blinded by bright apps:
You often get blinded at night by apps that don’t support Dark Mode? Enable White Point mode or Smart Invert Colors on the said apps. And since these settings might not fit for a daylight usage, you can configure these toggles to only apply when stock Dark Mode or Night Shift is active!

If you’re interested in giving the Appaze 3 jailbreak tweak a try (and why wouldn’t you be?), then you can purchase a copy for yourself from the Chariz repository via your favorite package manager app for just $2.99. The possibilities are truly endless when it comes to Appaze 3, and if you have certain settings that you like using in certain apps more than others, then this is the perfect way to quickly harness those settings without having to manually set them each and every time that you use those apps.
