Nugget’s latest update introduces new spoofing for CPU and Hardware models, as well as improvements to the skip setup method to address issues where configuration profiles might reset themselves. There are also a ton of bug fixes and improvements to help with the reliability of the utility.
Although Nugget doesn’t require a jailbreak to use, it does make use of an exploit to perform its magic using device backups. The tool’s SparseRestore exploit is the same one used by TrollRestore to install TrollStore on iOS & iPadOS 17.0, and many of the hacks it can perform are similar to that of jailbreak tweaks.
It’s worth noting however, that tinkering with MobileGestalt brings real risks of boot-looping your device, so unless you know what you’re doing, you may want to steer clear of risky hacks. On the other hand, if you’re feeling adventurous, this is a cool way to unlock functionality on your device without a jailbreak on the latest firmware.
Nugget is available for both macOS and Windows machines, with the macOS build being offered for both Intel and Apple silicon Macs. The tool is open source, as well. You can find it, as well as the source code, on the developer’s GitHub page.
