Force YouTube videos to play in full-screen mode with YTAutoFullScreen

When I use the YouTube app on my iPhone, I will say that I generally watch videos in full-screen mode around 98% of the time. If you’re like most YouTube users, then you probably do the same thing in order to maximize your viewing experience.

YTAutoFullScreen

Fortunately, iOS developer PoomSmart is making all our YouTube video consumption addictions even easier with a free jailbreak tweak called YTAutoFullScreen, which automatically forces YouTube video playback into full screen mode for your viewing pleasure.

Once installed, from the moment you play a video in the YouTube app on your device, it’ll automatically kick into full-screen mode rather than playing in a framed window with comments shown below it. You can, of course, manually exit into this framed view after being kicked into full-screen mode, just in case you want to read YouTube video comments.

Given just how often I play videos in full-screen mode, this is a convenience tweak that I’d quicky come to appreciate for saving me the effort of tapping on a small full-screen button every time I play a video. It also reduces the chance I tap somewhere besides the full-screen button, causing something I didn’t intend to happen.

With no options to configure, the YTAutoFullScreen jailbreak tweak is a simple install-and-go jailbreak tweak that gets right to work. Those interested in giving it a try for themselves can download it for free from PoomSmart’s personal repository via their favorite package manager app.

If you’re not taking advantage of PoomSmart’s personal repository yet, then you can add it to your package manager app of choice by using the URL provided below:
