LazyCursor gives jailbreakers a little more control over their device’s cursor

Whenever you’re typing on an iPhone or iPad, whatever app you might be using, the cursor behaves in a certain way – it blinks when you’re sitting idle and not actually typing.

iOS developer CydiaGeek wanted to make the cursor user experience more interesting for typists sporting jailbroken devices, and so a free jailbreak tweak called LazyCursor was born.

What originally started out as a jailbreak tweak designed to stop the blinking cursor when sitting idle in a text field anywhere in the iOS or iPadOS mobile operating systems, LazyCursor now supports several different features that may appeal to end users.

Not only can you stop the cursor blinking, but you can hide cursors entirely, and even colorize them if you prefer a color besides what iOS or iPadOS chooses for you.

Once installed, LazyCursor adds a preference pane to the Settings app where you can configure the tweak to your liking:

Things that you can do here include:

  • Toggling LazyCursor on or off on demand
  • Hiding all cursors from the iOS & iPadOS user experience
  • Toggling cursor colorization on or off on demand
  • Choosing a cursor color to take over the native appearance

What’s nice about the cursor color feature is that it utilizes a full color picker instead of a list of pre-defined colors. So rather than a list of a dozen or so colors, the choices are quite literally endless. This option also makes your cursor more fun to look at, so you may actually choose to colorize it instead of hide it altogether.

Those looking to make their iPhone or iPad’s cursor more fun to use can download the LazyCursor jailbreak tweak for free from the BigBoss repository via their favorite package manager app. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS & iPadOS 15 and 16 devices.
