LockMoji15+ lets you replace an iPhone’s Lock Screen padlock with any Emoji or Unicode symbol

Wouldn’t it be neat if you could replace the padlock glyph on your Face ID-equipped iPhone with that of an Emoji instead? Well, you can! You just need a free jailbreak tweak called LockMoji15+ by iOS developer b4db1r3.

Once installed, you can have an Emoji or Unicode character of your choosing replace the padlock glyph on the Lock Screen. By default, Emojis are shown using a smaller font size, and Unicode characters are shown using a larger font size.

In the screenshot examples above, you can see that a green check mark appears when the device is unlocked, and a red X appears when the device is locked. This is how the tweak comes configured right out of the box, and the colors are intentional.

After you install LockMoji15+, you will find a dedicated preference pane in the Settings app where you can configure the tweak to your liking:

Things you can do here include:

  • Toggle LockMoji15+ on or off on demand
  • Choose an authenticated Symbol or Emoji
  • Choose an unauthenticated Symbol or Emoji

Once you configure the tweak how you want, you can respring your device for it to take effect.

According to the developer, using Unicode symbols is the only time when the tweak color-codes the symbol based on your authentication status. This doesn’t happen with Emojis, obviously, because they’re already colored.
