Enhanced caller ID and brand logos coming to Phone, Mail and other iPhone apps

Apple will soon permit verified businesses to display their logo on the iPhone’s calling screen and preinstalled apps like Mail and Wallet.

The move will enable branded experiences when interacting with businesses on Apple devices. If you receive a call from a participating company, for instance, the Phone app will display its logo badge along with a descriptive name on the calling screen. This will make it easier to tell right away who’s calling you.

Similarly, businesses can make their logo appear when people transact using Tap to Pay on iPhone instead of a plain category icon, like before. The same goes for place cards in the Maps app and emails in the Mail app.

Businesses of all sizes, including those that provide a service, operate fully online or don’t have a brick-and-mortar presence at all, can apply for this program. Brand customization for the Apple ecosystem is free, the company said.

Before, businesses could manage their location place cards in Maps but that was it. With an update to the Business Connect program, businesses can manage their brand identity across Maps, Wallet, Mail and Phone.

“With Branded Mail, businesses can display their brand name and logo in emails to customers, so their emails stand out in the Mail app and are more easily recognizable.” This feature will be available to iPhone owners later in 2024.

With Business Caller ID, a brand’s name, logo and department are shown on the calling screen as a visual confirmation that you’re receiving a call from a verified business instead of spammers. Registrations for Business Caller ID will open in 2025.
