The RootHide Procursus-based bootstrap, which is frequently used by TrollStore users who don’t have access to jailbreaks or semi-jailbreaks, was updated to version 1.2.8 beta early Friday morning.

Citing the announcement, shared via a post by the RootHide development team on X (formerly Twitter), RootHide v1.2.8 beta introduces the following changes:
– Fix orphan processes being unable to fork
– Fix interpose for arm64e processes (such as the Terminal app)
– Prevent broken apps from breaking bootstrapping
– And more…
As a beta update, this release should only be deployed by developers and advanced users who understand what they’re doing enough to have the means to troubleshoot should anything go wrong. That said, ordinary users may want to hold off for an official public release when it comes out of beta.
Because this is a beta release, the RootHide development team shared it via Dropbox rather than putting it up on the project’s GitHub page. It’s worth noting that it will go up on GitHub when it comes out of beta.
The RootHide bootstrap allows TrollStore users on firmware between iOS & iPadOS 14.0 and 17.0 to inject jailbreak tweaks into apps on their device so that those tweaks can run within the confines of those apps.
Notably, the RootHide bootstrap doesn’t enable systemwide tweak injection. This requires the use of a full-fledged jailbreak or a semi-jailbreak.
