Back at the start of September, we showed you an alternative to Lars Fröder’s Dopamine jailbreak called Xinam1ne by iOS developer cypwn. Xinam1ne is a fork of the Dopamine jailbreak, but it’s modified in that it supports both rootful and rootless jailbreak tweaks.

In this piece, we’ll be showing you how you can use Xinam1ne to jailbreak your arm64e device running iOS or iPadOS 15.0-16.5.1 device in just a few steps, effectively unlocking the full potential of your handset and enjoying maximum jailbreak tweak compatibility.
What you need to know about Xinam1ne
Because Xinam1ne is essentially a fork of the Dopamine jailbreak, you can expect that the installation process will be largely the same as the vanilla jailbreak.
The biggest differences that set Xinam1ne apart from Dopamine are:
- Support for rootful jailbreak tweaks by way of XinaA15-style symlinks
- Fewer issues with DRM (digital rights management) built into jailbreak tweaks
- Support for additional package manager apps built-in, such as Saily and X1
- A new color scheme, app icon, and jailbreak app logo
Xinam1ne supports iOS & iPadOS 15.0-16.5.1 on arm64e (A12-A15 and M1) devices, whereas the Dopamine jailbreak actually supports additional firmware versions on arm64 (A8-A11) devices. That said, if you have a newer arm64e handset, then Xinam1ne might be worth seeking out.
Just like the Dopamine jailbreak, you can perma-sign the Xinam1ne jailbreak on your iPhone or iPad using TrollStore. This means that you’ll never need to re-sign the Xinam1ne app and you can always return to a jailbroken state following a reboot by re-running the semi-untethered Xinam1ne jailbreak tool.
Lastly, we should mention that unlike the Dopamine jailbreak, Xinam1ne will not recommend the Zebra package manager to its end users, but users can always install it manually by adding the Zebra package manager source to their existing package manager and downloading it from that source.
If you’re enjoying what you’re reading thus far, then we’ll show you how to use Xinam1ne in the next section.
