Apple Music Classical for iPhone has been updated with new features, including digital album booklets containing liner notes, images, biographies and more.
“This update adds album booklets for thousands of albums and a Recently Added section to Library,” read release notes accompanying the 2.0 update. If your app isn’t current, open the Apple Music Classical App Store page and hit the Update button.
Album booklets are downloadable PDF files. Hit an icon in the top-right corner resembling an open book to download the booklet for that album. If you don’t see the icon, there’s no booklet available for this album. You can also explore booklets by hitting the Dive into Album Booklets heading in the Home tab.
Apple Music Classical now includes album booklets
These digital booklets are available in multiple languages. They include detailed orchestra and conductor information, composer biographies, and other information for those who want to learn more about some of the most famous classical works. The app will gain even more booklets over time.
You can only view booklets in-app, not save them. Many booklets include images. For certain works, booklets include lyrics to operatic tracks. You can navigate a booklet by swiping, pinch-zooming and more.
Released in 2023, Apple Music Classical is free if you’re an Apple Music subscriber. The app brings a huge catalog of more than five million classical music recordings. Apple Music Classical includes powerful search options, letting you quickly find classical music by composer, work, conductor, catalog number, etc.
The app brings detailed descriptions, editorial notes, composer biographies and even digitally recreated portraits of the most important classical music composers such as Ludwig van Beethoven.
