Palera1n checkm8-based jailbreak updated to version 2.0.2 with bug fixes & improvements

The palera1n checkm8 bootrom exploit-based jailbreak tool for arm64 (A11 and older) devices running iOS & iPadOS 15 and later, received a minor update early Monday morning, officially bringing it up to version 2.0.2.

palera1n v2.0.2 released.

The palera1n team announced the latest update in a post shared to X (formerly Twitter), linking to the project’s GitHub page and denoting what’s new in the latest release.

Citing the change log, we can gather that palera1n version 2.0.2 introduces the following changes over the previous release:

– iPadOS/tvOS 18.1, bridgeOS 9.1 support (update checkra1n to 0.1337.3)
– Fix -p option sometimes getting ignored
– Fix arm64e detection in normal mode

Existing palera1n users can upgrade their jailbreak by rebooting their handset and then re-jailbreaking with the latest release to get the newest patches installed.

Anyone who isn’t already using palera1n is going to want to use the latest release from the start to ensure that they have the best new features and stability improvements from the moment they start jailbreaking.

Palera1n is a semi-tethered jailbreak, which means you need to use a computer to re-jailbreak every time you reboot your device. Likewise, the jailbreak utilizes the rootless dynamic, so you will not be able to use rootful-based jailbreak tweaks on it without converting them to work on rootless.

If you’re not already using palera1n, then you can visit the project’s GitHub page to learn more about it. You can also use our step-by-step tutorial to learn all about how you can use it.

Please note that the Dopamine semi-untethered jailbreak is a great alternative to palera1n on arm64 devices running iOS & iPadOS 15.0-16.6.1. With it, you don’t need a computer to re-jailbreak after every reboot.
