We are now several days into the iPhone 16 Pro era. While many frustrated Apple fans disparage the new device for having what they call limited additional functionality, the undeniable change is Desert Titanium. A new colorway is always celebrated. Personally, I ordered the Black Titanium option, having used the white iPhone 15 Pro Max; I decided to switch back to the black version. I was not enamored by the natural grey color. Desert Titanium showed well in the YouTube hands on videos from Apple Park, but I wasn’t really sure how it would look in normal every day lightning scenarios. Ultimately, I decided it would probably look very similar to the golds of previous generations and took the safe route with black. This year the black is noticeably darker than recent generations but a far cry from the Jet Black iPhone 7 or modern Apple Watch 10.

I’m loving the larger wallpaper canvas and the ability to move icons around on the screen, thanks to iOS 18.
