It was just this week that iOS developers @straight_tamago and @Little_34306 released MisakaX — a SparseRestore-based device customization utility for macOS and Windows that gives users a graphical user interface as opposed to a command line interface.
Since our original post about the project, MisakaX has received a bevy of updates. The latest, version 1.4 which was announced early Thursday morning, adds some new features to the project that users may take an interest in, hence why we are sharing it.
The full change log for MisakaX v1.4 is as follows:
- Add support for enabling Apple Intelligence on iOS 18.0+
- Enable Landscape Mode Face ID on unsupported devices
- Enable the old Photos app user interface on iOS 18.0+
- Fix the Clock UI
It’s easy to forget that MisakaX also works on iOS & iPadOS 18 betas, including up to 18.0 beta 8 and 18.1 beta 3. It’s a wonderful way to get more out of your device when you want something to behave differently or to unlock capabilities that Apple has locked you out of.
In addition to iOS & iPadOS 18 beta, MisakaX can be used with any version of iOS & iPadOS 17.
Those who want to give MisakaX a try can visit the project’s GitHub page to learn more about it and download the necessary prerequisites. No jailbreak is required to use it.
Please note that you use MisakaX at your own risk and it is highly recommended that you back up your data just in case something goes wrong due to the possibility of boot loops from tinkering with mobilegestalt.
