Write Now is a jailbreak tweak that uses AI to elevate your written bodies of text

The things you can do with Artificial Intelligence (AI) these days is incredible, and we have a feeling that it’s only going to keep getting better as time marches on. But if you’re donning a jailbroken iPhone or iPad and you find AI to be especially thrilling or useful, then you might take an interest in a newly released jailbreak tweak called Write Now by iOS developers 82flex and launchctl.

As the name blatantly suggests, Write Now is a jailbreak tweak that uses AI to enhance the product of your writing. With only a few taps, you can level up your writing in a myriad of different ways, including the following:

  • Proofread – Ensure that your writing is completely free of spelling and grammatical errors with the help of AI. This tool checks for these errors and makes recommendations on how you can improve your body of text.
  • Rewrite – Put a new spin on your words when something just doesn’t sound right the way you’ve worded it. AI can replace commonly used words with more complex ones, increase conciseness, and reduce passive voice.
  • Friendly Tone – If you’re concerned that your words might be a little too pointed, then you can use AI to soften your voice. This tool can reduce the tone of your phrasing as not to offend someone before you send messages.
  • Professional Tone – Cut down on the casual tone and sound more like a professional with this component of Write Now. Replace commonly used words with more formal ones and sound more like a business professional, scholar, or technical brain.
  • Concise Mode – Got a problem with talking in circles or beating around the bush? This feature can help you get straight to the point so you aren’t wasting other peoples’ time.
  • And more…

As you can see from the screenshot examples above, Write Now adds a new app to the Home Screen that you can type in. When you select text you’ve typed into the app, you can access the AI-based enhancement features in an Action Menu-style pop-up. The two main buttons are proofreading the re-writing, but you’ll find the tone changers toward the bottom for being friendlier, more professional, or more concise.

Once you select an option, the preview of the AI-generated text appears in the same Action Menu-style pop-up, allowing you to glance at your text before and after and choose which one sounds best to you. Options to Discard, Re-write, or Accept the AI-generated text appear at the bottom of the menu, enabling you to maintain full control over the language.

Write Now also comes with a few different options to configure:

The things you can change here include:

  • Enabling or disabling Write Now on demand
  • Adding and managing endpoints
  • Using a built-in endpoint
  • Viewing the test text editor

The developers note in the package depiction via the Havoc repository that user privacy is very important to them. That’s why although Write Now has its own built-in AI endpoint, users have the option of importing and using their own and keeping their data on their own server as opposed to sending it elsewhere for processing. Consequently, this means that you need an internet connection.

Those interested in using AI to enhance their on-device text messaging, emailing, document writing, or whatever else can purchase the new Write Now jailbreak tweak from the Havoc repository for $3.99. The tweak supports rootless jailbreaks on iOS & iPadOS 15 and 16, as well as the NathanLR semi-jailbreak. You can learn more about setting up AI endpoints on GitHub.
