Nomad unveils slick third-gen Stand One Max 3-in-1 wireless charger with Qi2

It hasn’t quite been a full year since the Nomad team launched the Stand One Max – a unique 3-in-1 charger for Apple device lovers who own not only an iPhone, but also an Apple Watch and a wireless charging-capable set of AirPods or AirPods Pro.

Indeed, it now appears that Nomad has made some refinements to the brand’s Stand One Max 3-in-1 charger. One of the first things you’ll notice right off the bat is that the Apple Watch charging puck is now situated on the base as opposed to hanging off from the side of the iPhone’s charging area. This meant that the AirPods/AirPods Pro charger had to be moved behind the Apple Watch’s charging puck, instead of underneath.

In addition to the slight change in the way this charger looks, it seems that Nomad is integrating Qi2 wireless charging technology, which replaces the proprietary MagSafe charging standard that the previous Stand One Max used. Qi2 still delivers 15W of wireless charging to the host device but is more compatible with other handsets and is also considerably less expensive for the consumer.

How much less expensive? Well, if you remember, the original Stand One Max with MagSafe was $180. The redesigned Qi2-based Stand One Max can charge all your devices at the same rate of speed and costs just $150 by comparison. The savings is made possible by the fact that the Qi2 charging mechanism isn’t licensed by Apple, yet it works in exactly the same way – 15W charging, magnet-based alignment, and all.

Thanks to the ability to mount your iPhone in landscape mode on Nomad’s Stand One Max, you can enjoy all the StandBy Mode functionality you’d come to expect from the Apple charging experience.

According to Nomad, the refreshed Stand One Max features a weighted metallic base and shiny glass overlays that clock in at 1.9 pounds, preventing embarrassing topple-overs and looking great at the same time.

A 2-meter USB-C to USB-C cable is included in the box, but you will need to plug that into a 30W PD power source of your own, as Nomad doesn’t include one in the box. Nomad does sell those separately, if you need one, and you can even opt for the slim version if you have limited space to plug a USB-C cable behind your furniture.

You can acquire Nomad’s refreshed, third generation Stand One Max 3-in-1 charging system for iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods/AirPods Pro from the brand’s website for $150, but act fast, as the first batch is likely to sell out quickly.
