The best accessibility-enhancing jailbreak tweaks for iOS 16

Most people regard the iPhone as one of the most accessible mobile devices out there, and this is because Apple puts a lot of time and effort into its user interface design so make it as easy to use as humanly possible. That said, it astounds me that jailbreak tweak developers always find ways to improve on it.

In today’s piece, we’ll be highlighting a bevy of jailbreak tweaks that can improve the accessibility features of any jailbroken iPhone running iOS 15 or 16. They may do this by making something easier to access, improving user convenience, or reducing the number of steps required to perform a certain action.

So without further ado, let’s take a look at the various jailbreak tweaks that can make life easier through accessibility on iOS 15 and 16.

Best accessibility tweaks for iOS 15 & 16

Sleipnizer

First on the list today is a Safari-centric jailbreak tweak called Sleipnizer, which essentially adds more gestures to your web browser so that you can easily perform common actions in fewer steps. Just some of the gestures that you can use to invoke Sleipnizer are: swipe gestures, pull gestures, tap gestures, 3D Touch gestures, and more.

You can assign these gestures to actions you’d normally perform while browsing the internet, to include things like: reloading a page, opening a new tab, finding something on the web page, toggling private browsing mode, requesting the desktop version of the website, or scrolling to the top or bottom of the web page, among other things.

Sleipnizer is an awesome way to get more out of your web browsing experience, but it also makes it easier to do things in fewer steps, which earns it an honorable place in today’s list.

JumpSkipReborn

Another important aspect of iPhone ownership is the part where we use these devices to listen to music. JumpSkipReborn is a free jailbreak tweak for iPhones running iOS 15 and 16 that makes certain music-listening actions easier to perform, whether you’re looking at your device’s screen or not.

With it, you can control media playback, including playing or pausing a track, moving forward or backward through a song playlist, or fast-forwarding or rewinding in a Now Playing track. You can perform these actions with certain volume button-centric press sequences, and you can do these things all while your iPhone stays in your pocket.

For instance, instead of pressing the volume button once to change your volume level, you might press both down at the same time to play or pause a track. Likewise, you may press one volume button, and then the other, to move through your song playlist.

DuckOff

DuckOff jailbreak tweak forces the iPhone to recommend swear words when typing.

DuckOff is a jailbreak tweak that I know most, if not all, of us can relate to. In essence, it prevents your iPhone from auto-correcting profane speech into nicer language. For example, everyone’s favorite F-word often gets auto-corrected to Duck on the iPhone, hence the name.

This causes not only frustration for end users, but it also creates more work and therefore makes typing your true feelings less accessible. The DuckOff jailbreak tweak fixes this by preventing the iOS 15 & 16 keyboard from auto-correcting your profanity. In fact, it even forces the iOS keyboard to recommend those bad words when it thinks you may want to use them, just like other words.

If you do a lot of texting and you swear like a sailor, then this might be the accessibility jailbreak tweak you’ve been looking for. It’s been especially useful for me, and I know it can be for you too.

Ring

It truly amazes me that we’re almost on iOS 18 and yet Apple still makes it astonishingly hard for end users to know if they’re changing their media or ringer volume when making adjustments. Many times, iPhone users are changing their media volume with their volume buttons, only to find that their ringtone is still on full blast.

Wouldn’t it be nice if these two separate volume levels were actually distinguishable? That’s precisely what a jailbreak tweak called Ring does, and it does it in a very Apple-esque manner. Specifically, it adds two different volume level sliders to your Control Center volume module so that you can change them independently of one another with ease.

Ring is such a common sense jailbreak tweak that I think it should be a stock feature on the iPhone platform. But since it’s not, it’s perfect for jailbroken iPhones running iOS 15 & 16.

Atlas Lite

Wouldn’t it just make so much sense if you could easily skip forward or jump back a few seconds in your media playback just like you can when watching videos in the YouTube app? To me, these seems like a given, as it’s something people do frequently when they want to hear something over again or skip a less interesting part; but who knows, maybe Apple engineers don’t feel that way.

Atlas Lite is a free jailbreak tweak for iPhones running iOS 15 & 16 that adds these gestures to your media playback, including double-tapping on the right side of the playback screen to move forward 15 seconds and double-tapping on the left side of the playback screen to move backward 15 seconds.

Normally, you would have to fine-tune your scrubbing skills with the process bar, but with Atlas Lite, this capability is so much easier to perform, which earns this tweak a spot on today’s list.

Easy Notifications

Sometimes it really bums me out just how much extra effort you need to put in to clearing notifications from the Lock Screen. For example swiping left on a missed notification banner reveals two buttons: Options and Clear.

Most of the time, we want to clear notifications that we swipe on, otherwise we’d just be tapping on them to open them. Instead, we must scroll farther to access the clear button, and this is where Easy Notifications, a free jailbreak tweak, changes things for the better.

With Easy Notifications, swiping left immediately brings you to a clear button without any other buttons getting in the way. This makes it easier to clear missed notifications that you aren’t interested in investing further, which helps save you the time and frustration that come with using the stock gesture.

Call Enhancer 15

Color-code the recent calls list with Call Enhancer 15.

When you’re looking through your recent calls list, it can be particularly difficult to know if those were incoming or outgoing phone calls. That’s why I really like the Call Enhancer 15 jailbreak tweak on any of my jailbroken iPhones running iOS 15 or 16.

With Call Enhancer 15, incoming and outgoing phone calls in the recent list will be color-coded to make identifying them easier. In this case, outgoing phone calls are marked green, incoming missed calls are marked red, and incoming answered calls are marked blue.

These color-coding features can make identifying previous calls easier, and therefore improve your user experience while attempting to find out when you placed or took a particular phone call.

Rune

Rune example of sections.

Almost any iPhone user can attest to the fact that shortcuts are useful, especially if it means reducing the number of steps it takes to do something. That’s why I can happily put the Rune jailbreak tweak on this list.

In a nutshell, this means that you can swipe up from the bottom of your iPhone’s display to reveal an interface with handy buttons and toggles that you might only find when skirmishing deep within apps or the general Settings app.

Just some of the features that Rune brings to the table are an app launcher, a device actions section with quick power options, a Music section with Now Playing controls, and a device toggles section with shortcuts to important system toggles.

While it may seem like you can already access many of these features elsewhere in the operating system, Rune packs them all into one convenient place on jailbroken iOS 15 & 16 devices, which lends itself to accessibility.

You can learn more about Rune in our full review post.

Verxina

Verxina controls.

Verxina is another take on a jailbreak tweak that attempts to pack as much useful information and accessibility into a single interface as possible. This time, integrating directly into the Home Screen’s Dock so that you never have to leave the comfort of the first thing you see every time you unlock your device.

Once installed, Verxina allows users to swipe up on the Home Screen’s Dock so that you can access app shortcuts, a Now Playing interface, the App Library, URL shortcuts, and battery information for your iPhone and any connected Bluetooth devices.

We find that the Verxina jailbreak tweak integrates nicely into jailbroken iOS 15 & 16 devices by tucking away nicely into the Dock and not appearing until you specifically summon it. That said, it doesn’t feel out of the ordinary when using.

You can learn more about Verxina and its high level of configurability and usefulness in our full review post.

Conclusion

That brings us to end of this jailbreak tweak roundup, but don’t fret because there will be more where that came from!

We do hope you found the jailbreak tweaks in this list helpful in terms of accessibility improvements, but if you didn’t, please be sure to post about your recommendations for other readers in the comments section down below.
