I’ve long been a user of the SF Symbols app that Apple offers for macOS because it lends an extensive library of more than 6,000 unique symbols that Apple’s many operating systems use and that blend seamlessly with the San Francisco system font of those systems.

I had always thought a similar app for the iOS & iPadOS platforms would have been absolutely wonderful, and now, iOS developer 82flex is pushing a standalone app called SF Symbols Preview for TrollStore that lets users access icons for use in apps and tweaks everywhere.
According to the developer’s GitHub project page, SF Symbols Preview mimics many of the capabilities of the $7.99 Adaptivity app from the App Store, but does so withoit the price tag attached. What’s more is the project is entirely open source. It’s an actively supported fork of SFSymbolsPreview by Yicai Yang, which hasn’t seen updates for about 4 years now.
SF Symbols Preview will be especially useful for developers are designers who are looking to elevate on-device projects to whole new level. Some examples of features include the ability to view more than 6,000 SF Symbols and the ability to make symbols as favorites or save them to the Photos app.
Coming soon, SF Symbols Preview will also support setting a stroke color, setting a background color or gradient, and exporting icons as presets, among other things.
Because this project is a TrollStore-based item, you don’t need to be jailbroken to use it. You can download the app from the Havoc repository via any web browser and perma-sign it via TrollStore on any compatible device.
