In this edition of iDB’s Wallpapers of the Week, we use space and our astronaut friends to make compelling backgrounds for iPhone. Whether floating through the vacuum of space or traipsing across an alien planet, these fun astronaut wallpapers are colorful options for your Home or Lock Screen.

The following downloads were sourced from several accounts on X. First up, we have a couple of astronauts posted by @SeanKly. I really enjoy these two because of the wide color spectrum, from very dark or light to a rich red-orange color. Another two astronauts are from @RajjAryaa, both thoughtfully exploring their extra terrestrial locations. Finally, while not an astronaut, this paper rocketship blasting through space is from @HalleyApps. Red, yellow, and orange booster flames cannot be ignored in the vast dark black space scenery.
I have always enjoyed astronauts as a subject matter, but never posted downloads in the genre before today. The juxtaposition of a human in an inhospitable location is what draws me to the imagery. Something about a human being lost out there in the vast scenery makes for a poet story. We may never conquer the great extra terrestrial locations, but we can capture the spirit of that experience in these fun, sometimes abstract, wallpapers for our worldly iPhone devices.
