Jailbreak news of the week: How to use SideStore, Bridge watchOS Home Screen for iPhones, & more…

One of the things we really enjoy doing for our readers is making sure they’re kept informed about the latest news and trends in jailbreaking their iPhones and iPads.

Weekly jailbreak news roundup.

While jailbreaking can be a very slow-moving vehicle at times, it comes at you fast when things do happen. For that reason, we forge handy roundups on a weekly basis that go over everything we’ve shown you in the past week.

In this post, we’ll explore the various releases and news breaks we shared across the past week, spanning Monday, July 15th to Sunday, July 21st.

Important stuff from this week

Using SideStore to sideload apps

SideStore header image.

SideStore is an alternative to AltStore that doesn’t require AltServer or a computer for regular sideloading and re-signing of apps.

While you need a computer for the initial setup, you can enjoy untethered sideloading via a special VPN for the rest of the app’s service life.

You can find out more about SideStore, including how to set it up and how to use it, in our full tutorial post.

Bridge

Bridge Home Screen examples.

Bridge is a Home Screen replacement jailbreak tweak for iPhones that brings a watchOS-style honeycomb Home Screen to iOS 14 and later.

Complete with full support for app searching and 3D Touch/Haptic Touch gestures, this is the most beautiful and complete version of this concept we’ve seen yet.

You can learn more about Bridge and how it works in our full review post.

FakeDualSIM

The new FakeDualSIM jailbreak tweak can make it look like you’re running dual SIMs on your iPhone even though you aren’t.

The tweak duplicates your Status Bar’s existing cellular signal strength indicator, making it appear as though you have two SIMs active.
