Find Alert app for jailbroken devices notifies you when someone tracks your location via Apple’s ‘Find My’ service

If someone was tracking your iPhone or iPad’s location without you knowing, wouldn’t you like to know?

Find Alert UI.

iOS developer Tinyapps has just released a new application for jailbroken devices called Find Alert that allows users to monitor and manage queries to your device made through Apple’s native ‘Find My’ service, whether they’re using Find My iPhone or Find My Friends.

When someone attempts to track your device’s location using one of these services, Find Alert will let you know via a notification in real-time, ensuring that you’re always apprised of possible tracking activities that may or may not be warranted.

As noted by the package’s depiction page in the Chariz repository, the real-time notifications happen as your device begins being tracked via Apple’s native applications. It’s worth noting that this app will not track or monitor location queries made by third-party tracking services.

Likewise, Find Alert has a few different options you can configure in a preference pane found withint he Find Alert app itself. From there, you can:

  • Toggle Find Alert on or off on demand
  • Configure the tracking notification message text
  • Configure the tracking notification sound:
    • Shake
    • Photo Shutter
    • Begin Record
    • New Mail
    • SMS Received
    • Tink
    • Alarm
    • Swish
  • Configure the tracking notification app sending host (make it look like the notification is coming from any app):
    • AntiTracker
    • Tips
    • Maps
    • Clock
    • Calendar
    • Notes
    • Music
    • Mail
  • Optionally conceal your true location
  • View comprehensive logs of tracking activity, sorted by time

For privacy-conscious people who want to know when their device is being tapped for its location, whether because of foul play from their significant other or because of over-burdening parents who may want to be a little too protective, Find Alert offers at least some level of flexibility to know when this is occurring and to manage what happens next.

If you’re interested in trying Find Alert, then you can purchase it for $3.99 from the Chariz repository via your favorite package manager app. The app supports jailbroken devices running iOS or iPadOS 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16.
