The WWDC 2024 event was a deluge of announcements for all Apple operating systems. Even visionOS 2 was announced less than a year from its original debut. With new OS updates come the once per year Apple approved wallpapers. iOS 18 wallpaper downloads for iPhone
While Apple Intelligence seems to be getting most of the attention, and rightfully so, there were still solid updates to forthcoming iOS 18 for everyone. Many wallpaper enthusiast will be excited to learn that icons can now be set exactly where preferred on the Home Screen, with the new update. Long time jailbreakers are laughing at how long it took Apple to offer this capability, but it is certainly a welcome update for those less pioneering with their handsets.
Additionally, Apple is providing the ability to modify the icons into light or dark mode. Moreover, a global setting will allow users to set the icons to a color tint of their choosing, providing the ability to match the entire icon set to the wallpaper in a single color setting.

This combination of the pink and purple is an incredibly complimentary contrast in color. I’m not surprised Apple decided these two light and dark mode options would be the hero images for iOS 18.
