Dopamine v2.1.6 update brings more bug fixes and improvements

Despite all the news and announcements surrounding Apple’s upcoming iOS & iPadOS 18 firmware updates, Dopamine jailbreak lead developer Lars Fröder has remained steadfast in his pursuit of improving the jailbreak experience for those on iOS & iPadOS 15 and 16.

Dopamine v2.1.6 released.

In a posted shared to X (formerly Twitter), Fröder used his @opa334dev account to announce the release of a new build of the Dopamine jailbreak tool, dubbed version 2.1.6.

Citing the change log, this update brings bug fixes and improvements, which include the following:

– Fix jailbreaking with developer mode disabled not working on iOS 16.0 – 16.3.1 arm64
– Fix weightBufs not working on some device / version combinations
– Fix libkrw physrw not working when kcall is not available
– Improve libkrw packaging and error handling
– Skip installing a bundled package if a newer version is installed already
– When an update is available while unjailbroken, open it directly in TrollStore if it’s URL scheme is enabled

If you’re already a Dopamine jailbreak user, then we’d strongly recommend downloading and installing the latest version of the jailbreak at your earliest convenience to ensure you have the latest bug fixes and stability improvements.

When opening the Dopamine jailbreak app, the latest update should appear as a pop-up prompt, allowing you to download and install the update over the air (OTA), like so:

New or prospective users should also consider starting at the newest available build such that they don’t find themselves behind the curve when jailbreaking for the first time. The latest version is available to download from the project’s GitHub page.
